Joe Thomason AKA Smokin Joe is a Des Moines, IA native. Smokin Joe has run the gauntlet when it comes to his work history. He spent seventeen years working in Information Technology and the remainder as an electrician, painter, fabricator, and working on engines. Smokin Joe’s affection for muscle cars began at a young age, but it was in 2000 when he purchased a 1993 Mustang Convertible and restored her to a luxurious, fast and loud running machine that he realized just how much passion/satisfaction he has for the restored muscle car.

Smokin Joe comes to Farm Boy Garage with more than 6 years experience. Smokin Joe has an artistic talent you cant find in just anyone. When Bryan sat down with Smokin Joe he saw a man of vigorous passion for restoring muscle cars. Although Joe’s work was impressive, it was that very passion Bryan witnessed in Joe’s eyes and voice as Joe spoke in detail about the work that got him hired on with Farm Boy Garage.

Farm Boy Garage is lucky to have Smokin Joe as part of their team considering Smokin Joe is lucky to be alive. At the age of 18 young Joe was electrocuted causing his entire body to literally smoke…now you know how he got the name Smokin Joe.
