Iowa Classic Car Events in August

The Fourth of July has come and gone and before we know it summer will be wrapping up. Let’s take advantage of the season and hit some car shows. Not sure where to look for a list of good events? Your Midwest restoration shop has your hook up. In this week’s blog, Farm Boy Garage would like to give you a heads up on some great classic car events for the month of August.

Roddin on the River – August 9th and 10th 

The Old Iron Company car club is hosting the Micro Mini Nationals on the River August 9th and 10th at East Leach Park in Spencer, Iowa. Plenty of entertainment with a cruise in Friday evening and camping, show and shine, food and craft vendors, poker walk, music, and silent auction. Check out www.oldironcompany.com for information.

Shine and Show – August 11th

Get your ride shined up for the Shine and Show Car Show hosted by Traer Chamber of Commerce. Let’s pack the main street in Traer! Show scheduled for Sunday, August 11th. Registration starts at 10:00 AM with judging starting at 1:00 PM. Enjoy downtown Traer with music, food and drink vendors, vintage and local shops, live performances, old fashioned ice cream shop and much more. If you want to plan a weekend show up a couple days before the show and visit the Traer annual Winding Stairs Festival August 9th and 10th. For more information visit www.traer.com.

Quasky Car Show – August 17th 

Small town, big event! Don’t miss this one day show in downtown Quasqueton. Top 50 awarded with specialty classes awards. Come hungry and ready to have fun. There will be plenty of food and giveaways! For more information call (319) 327-4225.

Grinnell Vintage Auto Club 46th Annual Car Show – August 18th

Plan to hit Central Park in Grinnell for the 46th annual car show. Trophies for the top 30 plus 5 special class awards. Don’t miss this family-friendly event. There will be something for everyone at this show including street rods, customs, and trucks. Call (515) 249-3001 for all the information.

2019 Ford Galaxie Nationals – August 24th

Calling all you Ford lovers! The Ford Galaxie Club of America is hosting its Galaxie National Meet in Cedar Rapids. This will be the largest gathering of Ford Galaxies in the world! There is a variety of events planned for this show in downtown Cedar Rapids. Check out www.galaxieclub.com for registration and more information.

Galva, IA Fun Days – August 24th

If Galaxies aren’t your thing head over to the City Park in Galva for a great car, truck, and motorcycle show. Show starts at 9:00 AM for this judged event. Bring the kids as there will be tons of fun, including water fights, bean bag tourney, petting zoo and much more. Call (712) 275-4259 for more information.
